Transparency and accountability is essential.

For one thing, the community has a right to know and understand how their Trust’s funds are spent. For another, by monitoring and evaluating what we do and the results thereof, we are able to make informed choices about what is working and what isn’t so that we can ensure funds are spent for maximum impact. Early Learning ELOM Assessment

This report shares the findings of an Early Learning Outcomes Measure (ELOM 4&5) study conducted by Lesedi and Letsatsi Solar Park Trusts in partnership with the DG Murray Trust (DGMT), highlighting the impact of SmartStart playgroups and day mother programmes supporting young children and families in local communities.

Nal’ibali Report

This evaluation shows that the Lesedi and Letsatsi Reading for Enjoyment Programme has improved children’s confidence and reading habits, helping them read more often and with greater enjoyment. It has also helped educators and caregivers support reading at school and at home, contributing to a shared culture of reading in two rural communities.

GBVF Situational Analysis

This report provides insight into the nature of Gender-based violence and femicide in the towns of Soutpan and Dealesville in the Free State.

Alcohol Harms Reduction

This report provides findings for the survey conducted in the Free State to gain insights into the prevalence of alcohol and drug consumption and how these patterns influence the general well-being in the communities.

DGMT Stunting

This study implemented a stratified multistage clustered household survey targeting a sample of 500 young children (0-72 months) and their caregivers in the Free State. Various risk factors for child stunting are explored.

ECD Final Baseline Report

This purpose of this baseline study is to provide qualitative and quantitative data on the Lesedi/Letsatsi baseline indicators for access to early childhood development. This report can be used to assess progress in the Lesedi-Letsatsi communities after a specified period of intensive social investment in order to determine the impact or success of the project.

Letsatsi Report August 2016

In 2016, research was conducted to better understand the challenges and opportunities for the communities within a 50km radius of the Letsatsi Solar Power park in the Free State. The vision of what it looks like when it’s fixed was developed through research and consultation and is articulated as a model of 48 outcomes.

Trajectory of success

Each year, more and more students graduate from tertiary institutions, and return home as community-engaged citizens and role models for the new children and families that begin with antenatal intervention and move through our pathway of programs. And that’s the point. We innovate to impact at scale — creating a cycle of achievement that lifts up children and families in the Free State.
