Flourish supports moms and their babies through the first 1000 days of a child’s life, from conception. Moms are equipped to optimize this time in a fun and memorable way. Flourish franchisees run ten-week programs covering key topics including maternal nutrition, pregnancy supplements, newborn development and stimulation, early antenatal care, and the benefits of breastfeeding. The moms are also prepared for labour, taught the value of the Road to Health book, and taught the importance of love and play in a child’s development.

SmartStart

SmartStart is a social franchise that aims to provide quality early learning programmes for young children, so they can be better prepared for formal schooling. SmartStart’s programme is designed to equip children aged three to five years with appropriate skills to support their early development. SmartStart recruits suitable individuals within local communities to become licensed practitioners, who are then trained with the necessary skills, tools, and guidance to lay the foundations for a brighter future for every child in their care.

TIMCA is a program that emphasis on making mathematics fun. SCORE

SCORE, an international non-profit organization dedicated to community development through sports and recreation, operates across five key areas: Sport, Life Skills, Leadership Training, The Cup of Heroes, and Community Sport Centres. Through diverse sports codes and recreational activities, SCORE provides children and youth with opportunities to play, learn, and develop essential skills. Life Skills training is integrated into daily activities and supplemented by workshops and discussions. Emphasizing the importance of leadership, SCORE aims to strengthen sports organizing structures within communities. The Cup of Heroes serves as SCORE’s premier event, uniting players and young leaders in celebration of sports. Additionally, as the implementing partner for Hope Through Action, SCORE manages and operates two community sport centres, located in Mbekweni and Franschhoek, facilitating access to sports and fostering community engagement.

TARL

TARL operates on the principle that one of the most effective ways to support learners is by meeting them where they are with Literacy. Rather than adhering to rigid grade-level expectations, TARL emphasizes the importance of teaching at a level that is appropriate for each learners current skills and knowledge. This approach not only ensures that learners receive instruction that is relevant and engaging but also helps to prevent the accumulation of educational gaps that can delay their progress.

REAP

The Rural Education Access Programme (REAP) Post-School Readiness Program is a multi-dimensional community-based developmental project working with Grade 10 to 12 learners at selected schools in the Northern Cape. They engage learners from grades 10-12, instilling hope and providing guidance for life beyond school, preparing them for post-school education and training opportunities such as university and TVET colleges. REAP runs a workshop programme incorporating opportunities to practice basic computer skills, understand learning styles, communication skills, study skills, time management, conflict management, and budgeting, among others.

REAP matches students with suitable pathways and offers opportunities to improve grades if needed. They collaborate with Gradesmatch for smooth university, TVET and NSFAS application processes and maintain contact with learners who may face challenges.

SCAT

The Social Change Assistance Trust (SCAT) is a non-profit advocacy organisation established in 1984 to advocate for human rights and social justice philanthropy.

SCAT provides financial support, fieldwork, and capacity building to organizations that are located mostly in rural communities. In the Free State, SCAT supports four local development agencies and a number of SMMEs, providing hands on training, mentorship, and financial support.
